Privacy Policy.
What personal information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. This policy covers our website at rivetmedia.ie and the ways you contact us.
Last updated: 23 June 2026
1. Who we are
Rivet Media is a social media and digital marketing studio based in Ireland. For the purposes of data protection law, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018, Rivet Media is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. If you have any questions about this policy or your information, you can reach us at info@rivet.ie.
2. The information we collect
Information you give us directly
When you contact us through the website, by email, by phone, on WhatsApp, or on social media, you may share your name, your email address, your phone number, your company, and the details of your enquiry or project. If you go on to work with us, we may also hold the information needed to deliver the work and to invoice you.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the website, our hosting provider records limited technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you view, and the date and time of your visit. This is used to keep the website secure, available, and working as intended.
3. How our contact form works
Our contact form does not send your details to a database on our website. Instead it prepares a message in your own email application, addressed to info@rivet.ie, with the details you entered. The message is only sent if you choose to send it from your email app, and at that point we receive it as an ordinary email.
4. Why we use your information
We use your information to:
- respond to your enquiry and stay in touch about it;
- provide, manage, and improve the services you ask us for;
- send invoices and keep proper business records;
- keep the website secure and running;
- meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
Under the GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases: your consent (for example, when you choose to contact us), the performance of a contract with you, our legitimate interests in running and promoting our business, and compliance with legal obligations.
5. Cookies and tracking
We keep the website light and privacy-friendly. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not run third-party analytics that profile you. Our web fonts are served from our own site rather than loaded from a third party. Our hosting provider may set strictly necessary cookies and process server logs to operate and secure the site. If we add analytics or advertising tools in future, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first.
6. Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where needed:
- with service providers who help us run our business, such as our website hosting provider and our email provider, who process information on our behalf under appropriate agreements;
- with messaging and social platforms (for example WhatsApp, Meta, and LinkedIn) when you choose to contact us through them, in which case those platforms also handle your information under their own policies;
- where we are required to by law, or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
7. International transfers
Some of our service providers, including our website host, are based outside the European Economic Area, for example in the United States. Where information is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision, so that your information remains protected.
8. How long we keep your information
We keep your information only for as long as we need it: to answer your enquiry, to deliver and support the services you ask for, and to meet our legal, accounting, and tax obligations. When we no longer need it, we delete it or anonymise it.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information in certain circumstances;
- ask us to restrict or object to how we use it;
- ask for a copy of certain information in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@rivet.ie. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie if you are unhappy with how we have handled your information.
10. Keeping your information secure
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe and to limit who can access it.
11. Children
The website and our services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12. Links to other websites
Our website may link to other sites, such as social media profiles and messaging apps. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to read their policies.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page, and significant changes will be made clear on the website.
14. Contact us
If you have any questions about this policy or about your personal information, contact us at info@rivet.ie.
